Why do people hate Kurt Gidley?

People don't hate kurt they are just annoyed that he always gets picked ahead of other quality players. Kurt has a high rate of doing things statistically like runs, tackles, meters gained etc. But would'nt you prefer a player who does less work and is a more effective pitbull? Or would you rather have an energetic headless chook?
