What is intergrated circuit?

It is a circuit, or circuits that are inside the "chip" connected to the external leads. These circuits are made up of very small transistors, resistors, diodes and other components. They are made this way to reduce the size of the main circuit board. If you have seen transistors, resistors and diodes actual sizes, then you can appreciate the size of an integrated circuit containing thousands of these parts in one!
