How to I fix my water-damaged Ipod?! Help, please!?

4 days ago, I skidded on ice while driving and my car went into the sea. My Ipod happened to be in the car. The Ipod was probably underwater for about an hour and a half before I got it back. Although it was the sea I crashed into, I've been told that only some parts of the loch are salt water and the large majority is fresh water. At first I tried to turn it on just to see if it was working, which it wasn't. I now know this was the wrong thing to do but since, I haven't tried to turn it on. As soon as I got home I put it in a sealed tupperware box with rice in it and placed it in a warmish cupboard. I took it out today, after reading online that it is better to simply leave it face down somewhere so that it can air. I still haven't turned it on but don't know what to do. What is the best way to try revive my poor Ipod?! Help would be much appreciated!
