Can a lawyer reverse a bank levy from a debt collector?

I just received a nasty levy on my account of $4,907.02 from a company called Mel S. Harris and ociates. I was served a summoning September 29, 2008 which was taped on my door at my current address. My general question is what should I do about this. I have tried numerous times trying to contact this company but with no avail. I need to pay my rent in a few days and other bills on top of that. I am the only one bringing in the bread but how can I do that now. Please, if you are a lawyer answer this question.
